A friend of mine works at a place for troubled kids. She lent one of the boys there a copy of “Jak and the Scarlet Thread,” and here’s what she told me. Her comments give me goosebumps every time I read them.
Post #1 ”So I lent the book to the boy at work and he thought it was the COOLEST thing that the author signed it. he started reading it immediately. he is pretty pumped to read a book signed by the author”
Post #2 ”And he was staying up WAY past his bedtime to read it….although it was okay since he was in his room. When I left at 1130 he told me it was addicting and he can’t put it down. I told him he needed to go to bed, but I guess he will learn the consequences to staying up late and needing to be up for school.
